About Us
SeaSkate is a handful of dedicated scientists, enginners and technicians. We asked ourselves the question, "If you were tasked to greatly improve fuel economy for high speed watercraft, what would you build?" Our answer is the SeaSkate, or more precisely, the Hydro-Ski borne watercraft.
Our designs use distributed points of lift for stable operations in high sea states. Of particular importance is the ability to control the angle of the planing surface which allows us to optimize the Lift-to-Drag (L/D) ratio. If L/D can be maximized, then required thrust, required power and fuel consumption can all be minimized. Our goal is to double or even triple the fuel economy of high speed watercraft.
We're new and optimistic. We've been able to advance our hydro-ski technology having operated several successful prototypes.
Our most recent watercraft, a 6 ski design, was launched in August 2013, and is currently being tested. Selected video and still images will be posted on this web site.
